Back to School Baskets

It is that time of year again! The backpacks are pulled out, class lists are sent out, new clothes are picked out, and labels are put on everything!

It is exciting and fun but can also cause some anxiety for our little ones.

If you can feel little heartbeats speed up in your house at the mention of the first day of school, I’ve got an idea for you!

Start the tradition of a “Night-Before-School Basket!” This has become a tradition in our house and is a way to prepare our kids for school! Doing something like this can help alleviate the stress by pointing towards the fun of the year. Turn it into a celebration instead of a daunting return to the regular routine.

Give the basket to them before dinner, then talk to them about all the fun things that come with the start of the school year!

What Goes In The Basket?

We like to keep it simple! Back-to-school theme pajamas, a book, and a mini pencil pinata full of treats. I like to bring it out before dinner so they can have the treats for dessert, throw their jammies on, and snuggle up and read the books together.

But this is where you can get creative and add things you know your child will love. In this post, I share some fun pajamas, books, and treat boxes along the lines of what I usually give. In the end, I’ll share some other creative basket fillers!
