5 Advent Studies To Try This Christmas Season

Each Christmas season I attempt to find an advent study that can emerge me back into the magic of the Christmas story. As adults, the wonder and beauty of the birth of Jesus can feel muted because we have heard it so many times. But there are so many different perspectives and tiny things we miss when we don’t look for them.

Dive into one of these advent studies to bring back that feeling you had as a child: amazement, joy, and awe.

Not every advent study needs to be pages and pages long and bound in a book. This advent study is done calendar style in a set of 25 cards. This could be a great entry into trying an advent study this season! Cleere is such a bright light. Her Monday prayers on Instagram each week bring such joy. She also creates unique products to bring us closer to Jesus.

Hannah Brencher is a voice I trust and admire very much. She sends out a free advent study each year to her email subscribers. Click the link above to get it directly in your inbox starting at the end of November!

Scott Erikson does an incredible job exploring what it might have been like for a young Mary expecting to deliver Jesus, looking at the extraordinary beauty of our God becoming a small child, and so much more. This one kept me turning the pages and the gears in my mind.

Ruth Chou Simons is a writer and artist with the incredible talent to draw you in and forget everything else while engaging with her work. This advent study is brand new, but I am positive it would be the perfect advent read.

This book, written by a favorite Full House alum, would be such a fun way to walk through the advent season. It’s full of devotionals, places for you to respond, and also classic Christmas stories, like the legend of the Christmas tree.

I hope one of these advent sets will help you walk through this season with new wonder and joy! Comment with any of your own favorites below!
